About this Training
PCA 101: Foundations - Primary Care Advancement Maturity
This course provides an awareness-level orientation to the Primary Care Maturity core competency within NCQA’s Primary Care Advancement program. Learners are introduced to maturity as a practical way to assess primary care capability across access, team-based care, care coordination, population health, behavioral health integration, data use and value-based readiness.
The course emphasizes shared language, maturity stages, common characteristics and capability domains aligned with contemporary guidance for person-centered, team-based, digitally enabled and accountable primary care. Learners use foundational examples to recognize strengths, gaps and practical next steps. The course does not teach learners how to conduct a full maturity assessment, design implementation workflows or build a full transformation roadmap.
