Join our October 16 webinar, Behavioral Health Care: Organizing for a Value-Based Landscape, for a 90-minute discussion on the pressing issues of access, quality of care and cost. 

Behavioral conditions are a critical health care challenge: They represent a leading cause of disease burden, surpassing both cardiovascular disease and cancer in the United States. Nearly 1 in 5 adults has a diagnosed mental health condition, and 1 in 12 individuals over the age of 12 lives with an SUD. Despite these staggering statistics, the treatment of behavioral conditions has historically been deprioritized and underfunded. The COVID-19 pandemic drove an urgent need for behavioral health services—which led to increased demand, workforce shortages and long wait times for care. More than ever, integrating behavioral and physical care is essential to improve outcomes and manage costs. That’s why behavioral health is a top priority for NCQA in 2024.

Established leader in the recognition space with 15+ years of experience managing projects, programs, and operations by defining business needs and embracing new technology to drive initiatives forward.  She defines business needs and implements PCMH/patient-centered specialty practice, (PCSP), Distinction in Behavioral Health Integration (DBHI) products, services, and new technologies by following standard processes, creating internal resources, and leveraging external resources. Also, serves as primary representative for staff education on products.

Ryan L. Palugod is a senior manager in the Patient Centered Medical Homes program at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Prior to joining NCQA in 2008, he served as a research assistant on projects which include the consequences of uninsurance and preventing medication errors. Ryan has a strong interest in public health initiatives that targets children, young adults, and underserved communities. Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree in health care management from Towson University and his master’s degree in public administration with a focus on health policy from George Mason University. During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, working out, and learning new skills. His latest endeavor is taking piano lessons.
